I don't want to sound rude but search is your friend. This has been covered extensively in many threads. The factory exhaust is very inefficient. There are good gains available with going to a 3" or a 4" exhaust.

On a modified car maybe. I have dyno tested a 3" exhaust (no cat) vs a 2.5" exhaust (no cat) on a stock car, and the gains were 4hp and 7ft/lbs of torque. The biggest gains are from getting rid of the cat.

No offence taken, done some searching too and I'm not under estimating the asthetics or the fact it sounds faster but with a standard turbocharger perhaps gutting the cat and fitting a less restrictive back box will get near enough to save some cash.

For the finacially impaired, what would be the best way to replace the cat and achieve that free flowing stock exhaust?

Oh yea, I only use the car for closed course events...

(didn't mean to hijack...sorry)

I'd like to see the dyno test of a 3" with a good performance cat vs 2.5" factory with cat.
