WTB: 3inch 951 Exhaust!!
Hey guys I am looking to buy a 3inch exhaust, don't care what brand just if you got one and are selling send me a message. If you are local that would be best and still am willing to pay shipping. I'm just tired of my old factory unit. Thanks.

Well with a newer larger exhaust it will be good to remove the old cat and piping thats been there since the late 80'S. Also the new exhaust system would generally be lighter than stock, reducing weight, with the larger piping it will reduce back pressure allowing the air to flow better... generally there's a 10+hp increase depending on setup.. I chose the 3" size mainly because it would be more cost effective than going larger... The wallet gnomes have been owning my wallet.
If I can find one at a reasonable price I can always build one myself and get it welded for a total of $250 with a 3" exhaust or $325 for a 4" exhaust... generally doing it myself will be cheaper but if I can find a setup reasonable sometimes is just better to go that route and save time.

Vacuum in the exhaust ?, unless you're going for a larger bore discharge pipe I don't think there's much to gain going bigger than 2.5 inch for the system, I don't understand the efficiency of systems that get bigger for the tail section either, the exhaust gas is cooler and the volume has contracted I would have thought.

^^^My thinking is that if there's a place for hot exhaust gas to go and cool off and expand, then it's gonna go there. So the bigger the pipe, the more room for expansion and more gas can enter the pipe at once. Gases don't normally like to be hot and compressed, otherwise our atmosphere would be like that. I get what you're saying with the discharge pipe still being a limiting factor though.
