Exactly. I laugh at this social gathering these kids call 'racing'. With virtually a track in every city in the US (or it seems like it) they should be challenging themselves and their cars to proper and safer track driving. Much more of a test compared to this misguided search for street cred, the new religion.

my friend with a 10 sec honda begged me to come hang out with his ricer buddies one night so i did. i have to admit, it was kinda fun. beat evo's, srt4's, sti's, nissian's and a couple mustangs. only car i lost to was my frineds honda. hes pushing 600hp with a gt35r. i invited them to come down to the track one day with the racing school i work for and the only car that came down was one of the mustangs. they build these cars for one purpose and one purpose only. going straight.....

Poor. The GT500 is .38, and they are tanks ~4000lbs with driver.

Hopefully you are a humble fellow...... I predict you will get you *** handed to you by both cars.

Also when those cars are prepared as most of the track 944 cars are here (coilovers,swaybars,bushing,wheels/tire,brakes,brake cooling, weight reduction) they too are capable track cars

Good response Rogue_Ant! I've had a bunch of drag/street cars and even a small block nitroused 280z. From a roll I am shocked at how quick and fast my 951 accelerates with mild mods. I whipped one of our techs 2010 Camaro SS 6 speed from a third gear roll soundly. NO ONE thought I'd win! A buddy of mine has a low 11 second GN (used to have one myself) and from a roll I caught him with his pants down

And as far as outright speed...damn! Fastest car I have owned.

Precisely. Apparently some people here have not seen the Griggs (and other) Mustangs in action:

I I am guessing y'all missed the recent road course comparisons between tue M3 and new 5.0.. I think it was Leguna Seca. Cars were within 0.01 seconds of each other. Not a typo.

The 5.0 will walk a Terminator. I worked on both of those programs. The new Boss 302 is faster around a road course than a Gt500 and is within a tenth in the quarter mile.

The biggest weakness of the Mustang is it's perception. I wouldn't put any money on the race if I were you. Leave your ego at home, too.

I love automobiles in general, regardless of manufacturer. When my car is finished, I'd have a hard time thinking I could beat them, too. New cars are pretty impressive.

Ok I didnt get to run them tonight. it will be later this weekend. I will have video up for sure. I know at 23 psi on 110 i was neck and neck with a built 06 GTO. No induction mods. My reason for not running? Got home late from picking the car up, had to re-tune, then when I was about to head out...the headlights weren't working. and I don't just street race lol. I also race spec miata with scca southwest. I'm a road racer, but I don't live close enough to any tracks to be able to drive too much...
