If you just get set up with front and rear calipers, you can call up Wilwood (or any other company that sells m/c's) and they will recommend a master cylinder size based on a huge variety of factors.

Here is a guide from StopTech, primarily for setting up a dual master but the calculation guides work for a single setup as well..

http://www.stoptech.com/tech_info/Pe...ster-Guide.pdf

using this guide, you can dial in the force required at the pedal...

I would think that once the ABS detects a difference in wheel speed/motion, it blocks off the master cylinder and operates the brake calipers by itself. Isn't the master cylinder completely out of the equation?

380 mm rotors and calipers will fit inside BBS racing wheels. (RSR brakes).

I think the upstream braking pressure provided by the master cylinder is modulated by the ABS solenoids and pump. If you release pressure when the ABS is cycling, there is less pressure at the caliper. Try it. Brake hard enough to invoke the ABS, then let off some. The ABS stops cycling and you're not braking as hard.
