Greg, words fail... I haven't been around here for quite a while, but just saw pics of it at the yard.... I thought, that car looks familiar... hey, wait, NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

So sorry about the car, but glad to hear you're OK.

You have a great eye for quality and detail. Hope to see more of it in this one if it can be saved, or a new canvas to work your magic with.

Grim posts like these are difficult to read and respond to.

I'm at a loss for words and can only wish you the best in getting what you deserve after all the effort and dedication you put into that car over the years.

Looking forward to seeing you back in the saddle soon in an even nicer one!

Just got off the phone with State Farm and got some excellent news....they're going to fix my car!!!!!!!

Don't have details yet but just wanted to post an update, I appreciate all the support and advice so far, more updates as things progress.

I'm still in a bit of a state of shock, that was not the conversation I was expecting to have with them...

Had you been with any other insurance company, that probably would not have been the call you received. Congrats!
Now, find every tiny little ding and see if you can get that done at the same time!

Excellent advice. I'm already pondering what I might want them to paint "while they're in there". 968 mirrors, repaint my Euro bumper, etc., etc.

A bit more data. I haven't seen the actual estimate in detail yet but the total was $6,205.08. I asked about supplemental repairs if necessary and they said we had "a couple of thousand to play with", which means they valued the car at somewhere around $8,000.

Actually, the nice old lady was kind enough to hit me on the side with the crack, it was the least she could do
