i was talking about making one with my dad by using most of the pieces from the original one. but whats worring is the surrounding where the rubber sits on

we where just talking about it with rough ideads said outloud but when it comes to making it, he'll find a way as he usually does.

Saratoga made their roofs from tempered glass, not perspex.
The reason it's harder to do than you might think is because the sunroofs are curved, not flat, and matching the curve is difficult. I expect you may be able to get a flat piece to seal eventually with enough messing around, but it wouldn't look nearly as good as properly shaped roof.
