I personally, think it might be worth the shipping. If anything, we all get to learn how long the newly welded version will last?

See now this is what I'm planning on doing. I've got access to a TIG welder, so when my stock headers die I'll just buy these and just throw a bunch of filler rod at the joints/seams.

What is the wall thickness of the OBX unit?

I was using the stock crossover pipe I believe but when I try and connect to bottom of headers it's putting my waste gate into torque tube. So wasn't quite sure . It has an sfr exhaust from cat, tial waste gate and 3" down pipe

I'll see if I can get some more pictures. I haven't had any reason to suspect problems, but it's a good time to do an inspection before getting the car out for another season.

I knew about the leak, I could here when it happened at the 2nd last event of the season. The cracked welds were news to me.

Maybe the OBX headers would last better for street use, who knows.

Any thoughts on what I should do next? $300 for another 2 seasons, or Lindsey Racing for more money and hopefully more time?
Well, as you saw above I decided to go with a set of FRF headers from Dave after my OBX headers failed. They were well priced, well made, delivered on time, and fit well. I have one track season on the FRF headers, no issues apart from the ceramic coating flaking off. The OBX headers could very well be fine for a street car, they just didn't seem to handle the extreme heat cycling of the time attack events I was attending. It will be interesting to see how they hold up on JustinL's car.

Here are some pics of the FRF headers as I was assembling things over the winter of 2012/2013...

...and one picture from the end of the season on the FRF headers showing the flaking ceramic coating...

Too bad that Dave doesn't appear to be doing these anymore. He makes nice pipes! I certainly wouldn't blame him for the coating, unless he's the dude who actually applied it.

That's what I figured. He's also, apparently still making them; which is great.

Top Gun Coatings in Calgary did mine and they still look good.

If you were inclined to get them repaired. Life time warranty I believe.

Hey Justin,

You've had your headers for quite a while now. How are they holding up?
TIA

I'm pulling the engine for a rebuild right away so I'll get some detailed pictures of the headers on the bench.
