Wear on the ends is what causes you to replace them, from what I've heard. I plan to do both of mine this winter since they're both noisy, but the cost of a new pair of them from Porsche equals what I paid for the car!

I was afraid the shafts were actually smaller. I'm thinking they are actually the regular 944 axles and they them to both. Are the shafts known to break?

I will check with next time I see him. Memory isn't what it used to be. I'll pm you with the answer.

Those miles include 8 AX events and 3 track days. They are smaller in diameter than stock shafts and will probably fail quicker than the OEM ones, but! they are warrantied for LIFE and they're easy to remove and replace. At the price, I don't mind changing CV's every 2-3 years.
JMHO
plus the fact that you can buy like 4 of theirs for the price of one new porsche one...do you know how much their warranty covers? like if it breaks they replace it no questions asked?`

stopped by a kragen a minute ago after seeing reman'd axles/cvs on their site for $70 to ask about the warranty, girl said that basically the warranty covers everything, whether its torn boots, the bearings seize or get noisy, and i even asked about snapping axles; she said it covers that but that is at the store manager's discretion, like if they were taken offroad or something rather than breaking during "normal driving".

considering that an entire axle and 2 new cv's costs less there than a single cv at pelican, hard to beat.

I put in solid motor mounts with the solid transmission mount. It is significantly louder but vibration picks up even more. It is like being inside a resonator. But then again I do not have an interior to dampen any of it. It sounds impressive inside once you get it wrapped up.

Yep, and that is exactly what I don't want... I think I'll stick to a brace.
