Sport Seats before and after pix
I hope the pix works...Before and after. Lots of work into getting the hard to find original burgundy plaid fabric the get them re-upholstered by a local shop. I did the swapping of the original comfort seats to the sport seats myself in a weekend. The only real trouble was to remove one stripped hex bolt and swapping the seat rails/motors etc. Lots of bending, lifting, and at times cursing just to update the old-school 20 yrs old seats. It's all worth it at the end because these sport seats are oh-so- comfortable and hold you just right in all the right places. Enjoy!

Really nice job keeping the original Silver Rose interior as new. Those seats and fabric looks awesome. It perfectly matches your doors as viewed in these pictures.
Great job, and I hope got what you wanted.
The factory sport seats are tough to beat, even after 22+ years old. I have to remind myself that our cars are close to being 25 years old. Don't we qualify for special plates soon....
Thanks for posting, and good job keeping the original Silver Rose Turbo S interior looking as new.

Definitely a labor of love so to speak...took me a year to plan and finally worked up the nerve to do it. Of course the year before that was getting the 3L sorted out. Thanks for your compliments. The donor sport seats were actually not the burgundy ones I posted. Those were the ones I intended to get but the deal didn't go through. However, another RLister came to the rescue, I think Chris is the name gave me a great deal on pair you see here- so thank you, Chris!
I'll work on the engine pix although nothing special though- not too much bling, just the usual go-fast stuff

How much did it cost to have the custom recover done?
What has to be done to convert to sport seats?
What has to be done to convert to sport seats?
As for converting to Sport seats from the standard comfort seats, you'd need to transfer the rail/slider motor assemblies from the comfort seat (8 ways power) and adapt them to the sport ( 4 ways power) movements. Not hard to do but time consuming. I took my time to clean, grease and test the assemblies before swapping to the new seats.

Thank you. I spent a lot of time reading about various seats and these are by far the best bang for the bucks in terms of price, weight, and functionality. I highly recommend them to those of you who are thinking about swapping in a set to replace the comfort seats. The early style sport seats are nice too as they are very light but when I sat in one, it doesn't hold me in place as well as I'd have liked. It's funny now that I have them installed, I literally had to lift myself into the seat as to avoid wearing down the outside side bolster- the fabric is new but still fragile because of how it is made -woven by hand I think is what the shop told me.

Guys, thanks for your compliments. I have attached a few more pix of the engine and exterior. The pix in the car wash bay was during the night before the 2008 944 Fest- Host Choice award winner.
