The IC that would be the easiest to install that I'm looking at is http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...#ht_3257wt_941

The ad states that pressure loss is:

1 to 3 at 35psi
0.2 to 0.5 at 15psi

Given that I'll be running 5 to 6 psi I would think that the loss would be quite small. Max HP for the IC is 300 to 350 hp, I hope to be 300 to the wheels or approx 350 at the crank, so I may be pushing this IC but am not sure.

the pressure drop figures are not necessarily @ 600 cfm or a decent flow rate so as the cores are small and the cross section is small i am cynical of the flow rate .
OK 6 by 2.5 is only 15sq in and you can see by looking that the cores are small so you could then cut it down again by 2 thirds ...
I still think liquid air is the way to go ..and then use something like that to cool the water ...

I would say a 951 inter-cooler would be at least double the inter cooler that it is and they have been put in 968s befor ..

What about something like http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CXRac...#ht_3257wt_941

I would need to remove the front sheet metal but that can be done. Piping the system would be very straight forward with less overall length and less turns.

Not only are the pressure drop specs not quoted at a flow rate (which means they are meaningless) – those are Ebay specs on an $83 intercooler!

Since its Ebay you should figure that the ‘sales’ info is optimistic by a factor of 3…!

Just thought that I would update this thread. Intercooler is mounted and the car has been dynoed twice. The first dyno run we had issue with getting enough fuel and were running lean. This was using the replacement Bosch gen III injector for the 968. I ordered larger injectors and put on a bigger pump (Welbro 392). Went back to the dyno and this time it's too rich (remember this is a simple SC setup using a raising rate fuel pressure regulator and stock ECU). So, while still on the dyno, I want back to my old injectors and was able to get the AF we needed. I'm pleased with the results so far and I still have lots to do. Ideally for the race class that I want to run, I was looking for 305 rwhp on a dynojet. The dyno numbers below are from a Mustang, so peak dynojet numbers should be in the 330+ range. Looking for some advice on how to decrease peak hp but still maintain the tq curve.

It would seem that dropping the rev-limiter (with an after-market box) would be the easiest way to reduce horsepower while maintaining the torque curve with a supercharger...

Eyeballing the graph and assuming a 10% difference between mustang and dynojet, I would need to cut my rpms at 5700. With my current gearing I would then top out at 136 mph, far to slow. If I went back to a tall 5th in my S2 box, that would get me up to 145, still to slow!

The one good thing about rev limiting is that I'm guessing it would give me good engine life !
