Default misfire after installing new cap, rotor, coil, and plug wires

I installed the LR SS plug wires along with a newish coil, cap and rotor. When, I went to start the car, it started slower than usual. It is misfiring enough to where I cant even rev it. The plug wires are correct. I put the old coil, cap and rotor back in and it still does it. I am going to try the old plug wires next. I am not sure of what else to check. Can the distributor cap be 180 off? I am sure it is on correctly since I did the same as the old one. The letters on the cap are readable(not upside down).

Update: I put the stock wire back on and it runs like it did before I did anything to it. This leaves the wires as being the problem. The are brand new and even have their own grounding strap. I might try putting everything back on and seeing if it doesn't the misfire again.

Grounding strap?
Can I see a picture of these, please.

I just confirmed that the new plug wires are causing the misfire. The only differences I can see between them and my old wires are the grounding straps and the SS mesh covering.

Okay - it seems the ground strap is there to ground simply the jacket....your wording had me concerned there, for a few moments.
It still is not a good idea - you are inviting trouble for the sake of esthetics by using braided steel and a ground strap.

I recall those wires when I was looking through Lindsey's site for mod's and a tune-up kit - those wires got my attention.

Too bad they're causing you problems, have you contacted Lindsey for help? They're supposed to have excellent customer service.

Hey Dillon, Did you ever figure anything out about why your car was running rough? My car does pretty much the same thing you described and I have some very similar mods, mainly the autothority MAF.

IIRC, those SS braid wires were attempted many years ago by [vendor name escapes me] and they had the same problem with mis-firing. Older 911's DID run this successfully, so I am unsure why the concept hasn't translated as well (higher energy flow with modern ignition systems?).

Don't change anything else but the wires, and get back to us with the results.

Are you saying that Porsche put a braided steel jacketed spark plug lead with a ground strap on a factory road car?

I did this. The SS braided plug wires are the problem.
