Ya shes very understanding she knows I like the car and would like to keep it or trade it for another 944 that I like... she cares about my happiness but generally I care more about hers than mine. It's just a car over all... generally I don't spend time fixing it up, only time I work on it is if shes gone for the day or something and then I clean house before she gets back.
I'm the type of guy that I don't wish to be selfish so I always try to put her first as much as possible.
I think I can find one she'll like and enjoy... maybe even a black on black 944S that would be good lol, then m90 supercharge it lol.

but also getting rid of it to get a more reliable 944 na or S would be more practical since we don't have a lot of money and are still in college as well.

Still in college. If there are no parents to support your 944 turbo lifestyle, I see why she was pissed. At this point.. Sell the Porsche, go buy a fairly new reliable economy car until you both get well started in your field of profession.

I agree with 95ONE. A lot of the expensive parts for a 944 are expensive 944 parts regardless if it is turbo or NA. Even base NA-944 parts are quite a bit more expensive than Japanese import or even other European import part costs.

Also, how long have you owned the turbo? I find as I own a car longer and longer I am less apt to sell it. That personal knowledge of that particular car, known fixes, and knowing what is coming up/due is worth a premium on any car. I always anticipate a "two month shakedown" for the car to reveal its true faults.

I say again, if you're planning on SC'ing anything, you're better off for financial and reliability reasons getting a stock S2.

Default Ditch It

Ditch the car, go with something practical, reliable & less costly to maintain until the day when circumstances allow you to revisit an "enthusiast's car." Life is cyclical there's no such thing as a once in a lifetime opportunity - positive, creative & constructive people will constantly see opportunity all about them! Sensibly speaking perhaps a sporty Japanese car would be the solution. Never fear - there will be other chances - there always are. Declutter your life & keep the wife happy! Priorities!

24 years, low on cash, still in college, and already married.
I gotta say it: OMFG!
I hope you're one of the very few men who are able to do a good job in picking a spouse very carefully.
Pics might explain alot (might as well shoot the car too).

Dude this is a technical forum, not a failed marriage sounding board.

Penguin: Where do I sign up for your 951 sickness class? I mean, I've tried, but I am addicted. And it is not like I do not have other 'fun' cars... I own an e39 530i/5speed, but still lust for the silly old 951... Just a car, just a car... aaaaaahhhh

I know, you're right. That's the second time you're reprimanding me.
Sounds like you're a little uptight; maybe hit a nerve, or something.

As others have said, keep the 951 and buy your wife another car. Given the unreliable state of your 951, until you get it sorted you'll both end up relying on her car anyway, so make sure you like it as well.

Really? As if you were driving the 944 Turbo as Porsche built it. Not.

I bought my 951 at the end of my junior year of college...granted it sat in the garage for 75% of my senior year as I installed mods. Maint. parts aren't too bad, it's the boost bug that gets you
I also will always have a dedicated DD. I've DD'd my mod car before and it's not fun when **** breaks.
