Equally for the federales...I'll take a ticket if the cop takes a ticket. Same crime, same time.
Do the police have to obey the laws, too? If you don't exercise your rights, you will not have them long.........

Just about impossible in any place that isn't a huge wasteland like Utah, Dakotas, Montana, Wyoming...
If you have a population density above 0.02 people/square mile, politicians LOVE to make a point of how they're keeping everybody safe by limiting raised 12-lane divided highways to 50 mph. It's for the CHILDREN. You don't HATE CHILDREN. Do you??? People eat that **** up.

I was running on the interstate behind a cop car with no municipality/state identification at approx 80 mph and I was behind him about 1/10 mile for about 10 miles. He fell back and made some threatening gestures, so, as I had my video camera, I took it out and videoed my speedometer and our relative positions.
In another couple of miles a NYS state cop stopped me and said the other officer asked him to stop me for speeding, which he did. I told the NYS cop that I had video of the whole arrangement and, if I was speeding, so was the cop which I thought would be difficult to explain to a judge. I said that if the police thought 80 mph was a safe speed, so did I. The cop was not on a call or would have had his lights on which he did not.
It has always annoyed me that police don't think they have to obey the same laws that other citizens do. This behavior certainly doesn't encourage me to respect law enforcement.
No ticket, no warning, no nothing.

Kudos to you and glad your tactics worked to your advantage.
+1. There really is a Porsche Tax.
Even when I'm driving the pokey 92 SAAB 900 I bought last year to run errands and drive in the winter, I still get shell shock whenever I see a police car in my rearview mirror.
