Default Car Dies at idle

Hey guys my idle situation is kinda odd.... I can start the car and it will idle great and then after about 2min it will just shut off... It use to surge and not be able to maintain the idle for long and cut off and then I checked the reference sensors and one was kinda out but still connected so i pushed it in the rest of the way...

But now the car idles great for 2min then will just shut off... bad sensor?

Well I just started the car and it ran for 11min and then I turned it off... once in a while there was a surge in the idle but wasn't consistant... I noticed a slight smell that was odd to me.. kinda like a burning, maybe not enough fuel? dunno.... I didn't drive it though to be on the safe side.

It will rev pretty good, once in a while is will be a little hesitant.... I know its gotta be a sensor though... here's all I have replaced recently

FPR
Fuel Pump
Fuel Filter
Distributor Cap
Rotor Button
Ignition Coil

I just bought a tps and isv but haven't installed them yet... I tried to ISV trick with the diagnositc plug did change anything and it acts this way after it's warmed up so it's not temp related so far. The reference sensors tested correctly so it shouldn't be them.

I wonder if its the TPS, DME, or Oxygen sensor maybe

The car now idles decent it kinda putters a lil but it maintains the idle, I adjusted the tps slightly its idling at 1000rpm instead of 800-900 but it's holding and drives well... dunno

thats a tough one, may be your TPS, unplug the O2 sensor on cold idle see if it does anything different, if it dosn't it might be dead.

HMM do you have an A/F gauge? if you don't track one down dosnt matter what brand they all do the same thing and see what the fuel is doing,

spark plugs and leads?
check the plugs see what colour they are, just hope they're not white.

Well I do have an AFM gauge but its narrow band, I could hook it up to give me a basic idea... what wire do I tab in with a narrow band to get an idea... Where is the 02 sensor located on our cars? I haven't found it yet, is it by the cat? I pulled the plugs and they look good.

it still will show you what's going on with the fuel injection. so theres 3 wires, should be red (power+12v) black(ground -12v) another colour (signal wire from 02 seonsor.) on the sensor theres 3 wires, there will be 2 of the same colour, those 2 are signal wires, choose wire and conect it straight to the gauge.

NBO2 location = on the downpipe from the turbo, and the wires go accros the firewall near the top.

when its connected you will know if you've conected it right. either it will turn on and start moving around from lean to rich, an dhwn you rev it it should move around also, if nothing happens... either check your wireing or remove the sensor and get a blow torch and heat the tip up and see if the gauge moves. if it dosn't its most likley dead and hopfully the wireing is good.

p.s. when playing with the sensor wires, if you cut them, crimp them back to gether and do NOT solder them, it will effect the reading, i dont know how, but it happens. good luck

Remember to check for vacuum leaks, especially if this is a Turbo.
