I've driven both and the aerodynamics of the 951 will win at a high-speed track like the Glen. I think a mini would be quite fast at a technical track like Lime Rock where aerodynamics aren't so important.

I own both a 951 (and several before it) and an '09 MCS. Assuming a well maintained stock condition for both and equivalent drivers, on anything but an auto-x track, the 951 will beat a MINI in a one lap race and own a MINI in a multiple lap race. The MINI will represent itself well and its a blast to drive, but its element (in stock form) is on the street, not the track. The 951 will do either well without breaking much of a sweat.

The stock brakes on a MINI go away a bit quicker than you might suspect, as the weight is mostly on the front. Its also got a higher center of gravity.

I dont like the minis every time i have a coper S behind me he tries to overtake. Afraid i have never let one succeed in doing that yet. They are probably good cars but i would never own one as i know they are a gay car preference. Nothing wrong with gay^s except not liking women, i wouldn't want to attract the wrong attention either by driving one

Well everybody knows the Tomcat is a pig, I mean a C-130 could do loops around it. A 15 on the other hand...

Maybe its a "gay" car in Norway, in the US, its more of a "chick car". lol But its not the equal to a 951 on the track, imo regardless of whom might be driving it.

Seriously, they are phenomenal cars and I love mine. Anyone that thinks they can figure out a persons sexual preference by the kind of car they are driving has, imo, bigger problems than what kind of car I am driving.

is every freakin car nowadays gay or a chick car? I'm not gay, but when you hear the reference that the Mazda Miata for example is a gay car it really pisses me off because i enjoy driving all the miatas and i thought the Mini was a good alternative to the 951 if i ever sell her.

So, let me understand -- is every tight small compact car gay? because it's "cute" to your next neighbor gay guy?

Well, lets see, I have Porsches, Harleys, a street rodded old truck with a Hemi in it AND a MINI Cooper S. I am assuming that must make me a Village People wannabee leather wearing gay guy with a VERY small peni$, right? LOL Anyone that wants to tell me that to my face might be surprised to see what response they get.

Its kind of funny when you think of it…
The Mini gets stereotyped as either a gay or chick car and the 944 is its day was one of the premier open shirt, gold chain wearing, coke snorting, disco stud cars….

Since I have a 65 GT350, several 944s, a Ford pickup and a mini I must be a Hairy chested macho throwback(GT350) that wears polyester print shirts with a gold coke spoon necklace (944) while wearing leather chaps with boot & spurs (both pick up and Mini).

BTW – never underestimate the fun of driving a good handling car that most other drivers think is a ‘girly’ car. I have really embarrassed a lot of ‘wanabees’ in ‘sporty’ cars…

Make no mistake the Mini Cooper S is a great little car, with kart-like handling & a genuine turn of speed. In tuned guise (250 bhp + spherical bushings etc) it has handling which is from the top draw. The tuned one I drove lapped the 3.6 mile circuit consistently with a caged, stripped 968 on formula R rubber - their performance was virtually identical, except the Mini had a full leather interior, panoramic glass sunroof, heated heats, aircon, stereo system etc! At the Nurburgring a friend in a 360 bhp Evo 8 (with modded brakes & suspension) was videoing us & said he had to wring its neck to stay with us - what more can you say about these little road rockets.
