There's really no comparison between the new Mini and the old Cooper cars. My roommate in college had a 1968 1275cc Cooper S bored to 1450cc that was very fast, light and handled very well but made few of the compromises the new Coopers make to comfort, noise and etc. There is a story we still tell each other about a trip from Geneva to Ithaca in that car that involved some changes in short-term memory.

I had a Norton Atlas and we used to road race around the Finger Lakes and really annoyed the federales in Penn Yan and Aurora.

Old Mini vs. New Mini

Well, the same can eaisly be said for old 911 and current 911. Hell, its water cooled now!! LOL

 

The old mini was also watercooled

Although the radiator is not were you would expect it to be.

 

Hmmm... Two cars from swedish manufacturers on that list, and we are only a 9 million people country. Right now it seems a very gay light is shining on Sweden
