OK I see you have 2 options...

1) weld the 2 pieces of pipe together.
2) have the shop fabricate a junction pipe (a piece of pipe to slip over both pieces you have).

either one would work, for obvious reasons the welded solution should last longer and be less prone to failure..

and both options allow for quick return of the car to it's intended purpose!

One part is stainless and the other is not. Can we weld something on it?

You mean like the flanges on the other SFR exhaust pictured?

I thought the factory exhaust was stainless, but it COULD still be welded...

OP, BTW the ridge on our WG pipe IS a sealing ring from the original flange...

What I'm trying to understand is the following, is the outlet port the way it is supposed to be or is this a mistake? Are we missing a piece?

I would get ahold of Tim at speedforce and ask them directly.... can they be used as is... YES.. but it will require some amount of work on your part..

What you received does not look like their design... it resembles another vendor...

Huh?

Stephane, there are a few different 'versions' of that wastegate inlet pipe. My guess is the crossover is designed to be used with the type that is in my picture. This piece was made by SFR, however there is a factory piece just like it (the SFR one in my picture is just a copy in 321ss). Look at this thread for reference. Basically what i mean is you have the 'other' style wastegate inlet flange...which coincidentally is the incorrect one for the wastegate hookup on the crossover.

Well after seeing that thread, I think I never received any WG inlet pipe from SFR. I have the stock inlet pipe and it just not work with the cross over pipe...

Am I correct?

At this point the only thing I would recommend is taking it to an exhaust shop and getting the WG tubing flared. Not much else you CAN do.

On a different note, I notice the heat sinks in the oil pan have been painted. Is that not counter productive?

Charles, the wastegate inlet pipe is optional and not part of the usual package. What i would do is goto an exhaust place and see if they can expand the tube on your stock inlet pipe so it can slip over the crossover pipe and bell the mouth to accept the seal ring. Essentially make your old style tube into the 'other' style. At that point all you need is the triangle flange on the other side. If that cant be done, i would tell them to cut off the stock wastegate inlet pipe and weld on a pipe that would slip fit over the crossover. I would avoid making any modifications to your very expensive crossover.

May want to see if Lart has the style inlet pipe you need also, lord knows hes parted enough cars he probably uses them as tire chocks.

Nice pic John.

So anyway, what does Tim say about this? That's the first question I'd be asking.

There are two different styles of the short 90 degree pipe (as somebody else mentioned). If you get the slip fit style it will work with your version of the crossover pipe. That’s the best way to fix your problem – no need to remove anything or modify the SFR stuff.

Our crossover was designed for early two-piece crossover pipes. So the factory style 90 degree pipe pipe will slide onto our crossover. The late model two piece crossover pipe, which you have, is the exact same size! So it cannot slide over. You need to get the early model 90 degree pipe or you can buy it from us which is much cheaper then the factory piece.Hope this helps

Tim
