Default Help with SFR crossover pipe

Ok, I just recieved my crossover pipe and I have a question about it.

Here is a picture first so you can see what I have:

First off let me just say that the quality of Tim's parts is incredible! They are beautiful and I am VERY happy with them. Also I'd like to apologize to Tim on any misconceptions as to the time I gave him to make them. He did a GREAT job!

My question is how do you attach the wastegate inlet pipe to the crossover? There is no flange or anything on the crossover that will mate up to the inlet pipe. Am I just missing something obvious here? Maybe someone can help me out!

TIA!

the stock piece has a lead ring with a clamp i think... you might just need to put the lead ring on that pipe, and clamp it down?

My car has a flange just like the new inlet pipe does, as well as an enlarged opening, No clamps are used. Thanks TurboX for the input.

He is correct.
There are two versions of the stock wastegate pipe system.
Tim modeled it after the type you do NOT have - which is better because it allows a slip-fit installation.
You need the lead ring and clamp that slides over that stub.

No, it doesn't leak. You can trust ME on that one.

I found this on European Cars website when he did their project 951:

Haha...wow...the more I think about it the more I'm scratching my head thinking...did I need to buy the waste gate inlet pipe from him?

There are two different Xover pipes and two different Xover to Wastegate pipe. I have the one that isnt flanged if you would like to buy it. Took me forever to track down the flanged one like you have.

BlacknRedGT, send me a PM with the details. Do you have any pictures of it?

Hosrom, I don't know as my dad recieved it and I am out of the country, but I will ask him to look at the paperwork for you.

What years did the lead ring/clamp style crossover pipes come on 951s?

here are the two different versions:

The flanged pipe came on some 88 and 89 turbos from what I found out. The other pipe came on all other models and some 88 and 89 turbos.

I have the one on the right for sale.

Ok, why does the piece in the right of BlacknRedGT's picture still have the triangular flange? I'm still not seeing exactly how it will attach to mine. Tool, does your car just use a clamp on that connection? Anyone on here actually use tim's two piece crossover and have a picture of how they solved this problem?

that exit pipe on the Xover does look weird I will admit.... but you prob just need two triangular flanges and a lead donut inbetween the flanges. Then you just tighten everything up. Call SFR and see whats going on.. they will give you a for sure answer.
