Default SFR Stage 2 install issues

Anyone had this problem installing the SFR stage 2 headers?

We managed to get the headers and downpipe installed but we've hit a major stoneblock installing the wastegate. Here's where we are right now.

As you can see in the picture, I'm holding the wastegate in my hand, the wastegate will not fit as the diameter of the tubing is the same on both pieces. Anyone know what is happening here??

Clearly from the picture below, the end of the tubing has been stretched to receive the wastegate but not on the unit we received!

Anyone seen this before or can explain what we are doing wrong?

What you are showing doesn't look the same as the 2nd pic with the complete kit. It looks straighter in the top pic and with more 'triangulation' than the 2nd one. Something doesn't add up?

I agree, but that's how we received it, I guess Tim modified his design since he took the pictures for his website, but beleive me, this is the stage 2 kit !

i dont have them so i really cant say why, but you could get a exhaust pipe expander and that should stretch it enough to slip in.

That could be a solution and we thought about that but we would have to cut on either side because when the waste-gate is installed in it's proper location, the pipe extends a lot over the crossover pipe (the part where is should fit within the crossover pipe). That part is in stainless steel and we do not want to cut it.

It would align perfectly with the ridge if it would fit into it.

Sending it back would involve a lot of money and time wasted, especially that the owner of the car was scheduled to race in a couple of days and the engine is in the car! I hope we do not get there!

The set i have came with a wastegate inlet pipe also. This inlet pipe has a bell mouth at the end to accept the seal ring, which slides over the outlet pipe of the crossover. Unfortunately i do not have any good pictures of that wastegate inlet pipe..

i would say to try an expander. you may need to heat the pipe a bit and i usually use an impact on the expander. my question is how are you supposed to clamp it even if it slid in.

I just took a better picture of the crossover so we can see the whole setup. As you can see we put a temporary cap on it so we could start the engine and it started right up Nice work from Michel at GroupEurosport

Still open to suggestions as to what we could do? For others that have these, how did you attach the waste-gate to the outlet pipe?
