Default A stand Alone that is affordable for most.

Check it out...if you are on the edge this might be the push you need.
Has all the features you would ever need for the 944 and a brand new plug and play engine wiring harness.

A flying lead is not plug and play or does it have a Bosch adapter loom ??
I can't see it being the "push" over the edge for the bog plunge for any one ..
its a pretty normal price with pretty ordinary features .
the ticket price for a programmable ecu is about a third or half the total spend and effort ..

some one posted feature packed on here asking about it a few weeks back ..

Link are a good ECU with good history if there is support and knowledge in you neighborhood its a reasonable choice .
I don't mean to rain on your parade I'm sure it we be cool I'm a tragic programmable ecu junki myself ...
but i and tuning and wiring enthusiast ... and its a slippery slide ...
to get your moneys worth you generally feel the need to run multi coil and you will spend another 500+ setting that up

Cmon....the stand alone that is affordable to ALL is:

https://rennlist.com/forums/944-turb...-tunerpro.html

Use the stock DME/KLR to do whatever you want. For a street/track car, anything and everything else is a waste of money.

Wow. With the built-in MAP sensor, that's got me interested. It feels like another piece of the 3.0L low-boost turbo project puzzle may have fallen into place...

I assume this supports the Link software that does the auto A/F table cell mapping?

Systems should be checked for what they offer and how they can be used in each application. The Tuning software and functions should also be evaluated.

Comparing systems is always very contentoius and brings up huge disagreements. These are always motitivated from ignornance and often by those that sell alternative systems.

I am sure the other systems suggested here are very good too. That doesn't take anything away from the new Link systems. They really need to be looked at in depth to fully understand what they offer.

For the 944 Turbo application the Link Atom offers many features other systems do not presently offer.
The ability to use the factory Triggering and sensors makes the fittment really easy. It comes with a fully terminated Harness, Boost Solenoid, Air Temp sensor, Coils, and maps ready to use. The system is well supported by many in the Porsche community including the 944 Turbo world.

It is as close as Plug and Play there is. I'm told it takes around 4 hours to fit and get up and running. With the base maps available and the self tuning function, you should be very close with hours without pro help.

Best to check out the software and see the power of the system then compare the price of the Atom with others.

I forgot to add, the costs should be checked also. I am not sur ethe pricing but there are 5 levels of Link wire In ECU's. I think the pricing posted may be for the higher level systems. It was my understanding the Atom is under $ 1000.00.

To imply the Link is not as good as a Motec, is truely a misinformed opinion. This business tends to overlook the obvious. Systems do get better and the rate of change in the computing field is so fast it is always overlooked.

I was referring to the higher end Link units comparable (although exceeding) the Motec M400 in features.
