Nice! I always try to wave at any p-car I see, but the newer ones tend to be the least friendly

I get a guy with a boxster to wave to me. And one guy has a 951 and a 911 GT2 and he waves. There are 10+ 944's in my town

I waved at a guy in a really nice looking 997 Turbo once as I was in my 951. He looked at me, rolled his eyes, and took off.

The people that I get return waves from are mostly driving older 911s, 964s, and 993s. Once you get into the 996, 997, it's rare they wave back. I think there are more "image buyers" in the newer cars than the older ones.

I have gotten lots of waves from 996,997 Carrera 4, even some S's. Ofcourse that is a left hand wave out the drivers window to let me buy on the track!!

I think that a lot of 997 type owners probably don't even know what our cars are. Probably think they're a Mazda RX7 or something.

Maybe they had a 944 in the past possibly as their first Porsche. I haven't met a person yet who did own a 44 that doesn't have fond memories. They may drive something different now but...

Most true car lovers, particularly Porsche lovers don't discriminate. The people who do are driving their car for the wrong reason.

They really think you are crazy when you wave when you are driving a work truck or van!

I received a reluctant and surprised thumbs up when a 996 couldn't drop a 24 year old, front engine, is that a P-car. One of the best morning drives I ever had.

I was sitting in the car on a cross street at Lincoln Road once, some guy comes up to the car and tells me about driving a 944 through West Germany years ago...he definitely thought I was driving a "real Porsche"

Current 996 owner here (I've had 6 944 turbos however). Anyway, I wave at all Porsches, and have a fairly good response rate back. 914 owners are generally surprised more so than 944 owners!

I still remember my first wave back from a 968 back when I had a 944 NA... 10 years ago!

I think most people on rennlist would wave back as after all this is an enthusiast site..

I'd get waves from all sorts of people in my car, and quite a few in Porsches. Of course there were also people in 944s that really don't care about their car or anything and come off as real ********.
