So putting a motor back together i check the inside of the stock manifold ports and find huge welded restriction. Check out the pics. Before grinding the diameter is 1.25. After grinding the weld out its smooth and a new dia. of 1.65.

might want to check yours if you have the manifolds off.

Porsche welds those on the inside, and not on the ouside. It's possible you just removed the only thing
holding the flange to the tube. It may be prone to easily cracking now.

We agree, the weld does restrict, but we weld 100% on the outside before removing the inside weld.
I hope it works out for you.

me too. maybe ill get the outside welded then. thanks. seems like a big restriction and its almost worth it to weld the outside and grind the inside then.

The welding in your headers looks like if they were repaired.
