Using a COP is doable, they just fire in a wasted spark form.
When using a different coil or COP, there are a few things that must be known, like the dwell/charge time for the particular coil as well as the shape/type of signal it handles. For now, to keep things simple and to keep the cost down, we are looking at the coil-pack. If someone must have COP, we can handle it as a special project, which will be time consuming and will drive the cost up.

A quick update. The new WS system is up and running on my car. The next stage is to figure out the packaging and the cost.

Thank you for the input!

Based on everyone's reply, more than likely the new WS will be modular. A base model with no ignition control, then a advanced model with ignition control.
Both systems will require you have a Vitesse Gray PiggyBack and chip/board (which will need to be reflashed). The base system will be $500 or less (assuming enough people are interested).

Why does the chip/board need to be reflashed ?

Any core charge system considered ? Sending back the chip/board is a bit annoying for customers living overseas

"A bit annoying" ?
I would rather say that having to immobilise the car for a period depending on the efficiency of aerial postal services is a right pain in the back.

Anyway, pleased to know the WS will be availbale soon - you can put me on the list John.

Trust me, I'm not too crazy about having to reflash the chip/boards either. However, for technical reasons, the software must be changed for the new WS to work..

Definitely would be interested in a controllable setup here in the next couple of months.

I got the prototype working, with a few minor changes needed. Working on a way to bring the price down sub $500.. However with the limited demand, I'm not sure it's possible.
