Default Update: what would cause this sensor damage?

I have done some searches so don't say that. I was removing the speed and reference sensors to change them and the speed sensor broke. I could twist it side to side but not easily. The head broke off the speed sensor- the furthest back one. I have to remove the bracket not which is not going good. The bottom bolt- driver side- stripped. The other one came out. I tried cutting the bolt into a flat head screw but that failed. I am now trying to cut the head off. Any suggestions??
I need this car next week...
thanks

Update: Look down a couple posts for the pictures of the carnage!

Update! I got the bolt out. Now I have to push it back and there is a piece that keeps the one side aligned so the piece can pivot off that bolt. Can I cut it? I tried to push the bracket back but it will not go back far enough.

I shortened that alignment sleeve when I reassembled my clutch. I didn't remove it completely, but cut ~1/2 of the length off. Car doesn't seem to notice any difference.

Oh, and make sure you use anti-seize on the new bolts.

This is what i just did.

UPDATE: What would cause this? This is the speed sensor(closest to the firewall) something hit it or the bracket was not adjusted properly but they have never been removed before.

they get crap in there and stick sometimes, but the bottom is from it rubbing the flywheel.

That looks more like ‘impact’ damage….if it was hitting the flywheel teeth it would look like it was being attacked with a grinder…that looks more like it was damage while begin removed!
