Yep, CA smog is my daddy right now..
Built the universal to Porsche O2 rig this morning and trying to use my routing is
, I was super **** about keeping it away from the heat but now it's just a bitch to re-thread the lead.
What was the original routing?

I was wondering about the same a few weeks ago when i did mine . Ended upp running it trough the brakebooster heatshield. I did put a string in the orginal wire and tried to pull the new one up. But ofcource it came loose and i lost that chance,.

If you are using the universal Bosch sensor with the splice kit (a very nice solution for the stock replacement!) you can make the wire length longer and run the wires in front of the turbo and then back to the connection point. Much safer route for the wires.

I had gone behind the oil pan gasket heat shield (cooling tin), then between the intake and it's rear support (major pinch point!), to the connector.
This time I went with in front of the gasket heat shield and to the outside of the rear intake support. Down pipe is wrapped and the new universal O2 is well protected, so I figure cooling air boundary layers will work just fine.

Yep Chris, I weighed the 191k on the clock against the 30k expected sensor lifespan and decided against moving the #13913 Ford connection to a cool and safe place below for a quick, painless replacement.
I've put 30k road miles on in the past four years..
