Default x-post: water pump and belts video tutorial

I have to fix a leaky water pump, so I thought that while I did it, I'd take some video and make a tutorial.

Disassembly part 1:

Disassembly part 2:

Reassembly videos will come later (maybe in 2 weeks).

I'll be tackling this job some time this year, depending on how many miles I rack up.

It can be done on jack stands... just harder to photograph!

Just wondering but will you be using the factory 920, Arnworks or Kriket to set your belts? I've had engine on the stand for over a month now with new belts and rollers. Been bashful about setting them. Bought a Kriket been playing with.

No - I won't be using any tensioning tool... I have, in the past, borrowed and used the 9201 - and I know my timing belt tensioner is right on the money.

The balance shaft belt I just set by feel.

Not to hijack, but if you get the Arnnworx P920X and play with that instead, you'll get the tension spot on.

It takes some getting used to, because you need to learn to reset it properly between tensioning attempts, but it has such a broad measuring range that you can really hone in on setting the tension required.
