If i had needed a flow bench i would have made one years ago they are a piece of cake . you can also just dump water through an inlet port and time it for comparative flow tests .
I'm always baffled why hardly any head shops have them ...there realy is nothing to them ..

The hard part is actually knowing how to use one and how to work a head!

The more you know or learn about the physics in an engine the more you feel compelled to do

Everybody is squeamish about measuring gasses....they measure liquid all the time.

Air measurement just has different pressure scales and most people don't have the equipment to measure it.

Nothing wrong with a home made flowbench , a comparative tool is just that . From experience i have found you can't use them to compare to other pro flow benches the numbers never are the same .

Briefly scanned through the links. I didn't see any mention to calibration to compensate for barometric changes, heat rise, plus a few other variables that must be taken into account to figure out the actual flow.

When using a flow bench, more than likely you will flow the same head over a period of time. Flow, port, flow,... So unless you can account for external variables from one day to the next, the results will not be correct and will be impossible to compare results.

In addition to the flow bench, a few other tools are great to have: swirl meter, velocity probe.
