Default Would you do this to your 944?

A Dutch designer has built something else from a 944.

What do you think?

it looks pretty well done .. have you seen it in the flesh or fiberglass Hanns
after i have spent a bomb on my driveline i do kind of wish for some kind of full fabbed cobra or clubman style thing that would be 700kg wet and have all the suspension geometry sorted ..
does it have just 944 running gear or is it a cut up 944?

Hell yeah I would. I would buy a mechanically solid car for $1,000 and do it!

Yes I have seen a prototype. Actually looks a bit better (or less awfull) in the flesh. Fiberglass is done by my GFK guys, so pretty OK.
It uses the bottom plate and some tubular chassis, weighs in at 900 kg

I love it---as much as the 944 is a classic in terms of lines and silhouette, this also has classic lines that hearken back to old Triumphs or Aston-Martins...at least to my untrained eye! I'd get one in a heartbeat!

I think the designer ‘borrowed” too much from other very notable cars –
I see some Mercedes gullwing in the side of the fenders & doors, Carrera GT in the roll hops and trunk lid, old English in the front air intake and a Porsche spider in the windshield…and then toss on some Formula car mirrors…

I wouldn’t take the designer outside and shoot him…but I would make him dress in a 60’s pants, 80’s shirt, 90’s hat and a pair of very current shoes and make him drive around in his ‘creation’ so everybody could see him and appreciate his ‘style’!!

I was preparing myself for an upsetting image when I opened this thread but actually its 'quite' nice. Makes use of a good chassis and so long as he only breaks rusty bodies 944's to do it I'm not offended.

It's a great chassis and driving position, why not use it for a new lightweight shell. He has my approval.

In a heart beat...if it incorporated all the heart and soul, engine and suspension characteristics of a turbo, that thing would be amazing.
