Genesis coupe test drive
I had the minivan at the Hyundai dealer for some service and had some time to kill so I took the new Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track edition for a test drive. It runs 306 hp.
My 86 951 has minor mods;
vitesse AFM chip, shimmed wastegate, manual boost controller set at 17lbs, and the custom AMF relocation pipe and intercooler pipe that I and a friend made. The engine is internally stock with 187,000 miles on it and it runs a factory stock exhaust. I have no idea how much hp my car is running.
I do know it would beat the 306 hp genesis coupe badly.
I was not impressed with the power/braking/handling/ride of the genesis coupe compared to my car.
It was a nice car compared to a lot of new cars. Hyundai has come a long way in a short amount of time but I'll keep my 25 year old beater thanks.

One thing you need to remember is that your little k26 will make your car FEEL faster then it really is (and then it doesn't do much above 5k rpm). Also, the newer car will be much smoother, creating a feeling of a slower car. Although, I'm sure your car has more torque then the Genesis.

Automatic trany with a curb weight of 3400 pounds isn't going to help the acceleration. I was expecting the weight to be even higher with a big 6 cylinder so that was a surprise
