Wow that's some video! I like that a lot. You can see the lack of weight in the car. I do put great faith in the choice of turbo as well though. I used to hate Garrett (road) turbos but the latest GT series of BB turbos are fantastic and seem to be producing the best results everywhere. I have mine on order.

p.s. to the original poster that is a very very nice power curve. Looks like it took a lot of work. Which route did you go with the engine management?

Sorry, this will not separate the BS from fact. It will just toss more stuff into the blender and make a giant BS smoothie!
Peak torque is usually tied in with a boost peak. Many boost controllers will allow an initial peak – that is what you are probably seeing in the K27/6 chart. Even a 1 lb spike will skew the torque curve. (BTW – that’s a strange AFR curve…I thought it might actually be the boost curve but it does not match the torque curve)

If you want “quick spool” info you just want the manifold pressure vs RPM – and that, like all other info, can be easily manipulated. Left foot braking in 5th gear will give you the appearance of better boost response at low RPM.

The performance of a turbo is also influenced by cam selection, intake and exhaust and engine management. You can work wonders for spool up if you know how to tweak the timing / mixtures to generate a lot of exhaust heat at the right time.

So….unless the dyno run was well datalogged you won’t really be able to make a ‘scientific’ comparison…but I suppose it’s fun to try!!

BTW - as for dyno testing – I had a turbo S with just the autothortity chipset and banjo jet on the dyno Thursday – 290rwhp. High boost and running lean…standard Autothority stuff….
