Default Issues with PET on Vista

I have an older version of PET ( PET5 & PET 6) 6 runs fine on my old desktop running XP but will not run on my laptop running Vista home premium. It was suggested to me to hit the compatibility tab, but when I downloaded it from the original disk I had it had to be unzipped ... Now, it just sits on the desktop as a file
I even got a warning, some two weeks after loading it, that there was a compatibility issue ....
Any insights would be welcome
Thanks
Ed

Ed, I'm sorry I haven't stopped by to help on that. Hopefully someone who's done it recently can help, but if not I promise to make it over this weekend...

I don't know the answer, but recall it being discussed before... have you tried a search?

Hey Guys
Yes running as admin
but my issues may be wider ..after installing again( correctly )
It seems my screen resolution may be a factor. Mine is 1400x 900 not 1280 x 1024
I don't know if that is the problem? I was able, this time to access a compatibility tab as opposed to last time.
Regards
Ed

You can change the resolution both in windows and perhaps with your monitor,

Why wouldn't you download the current PET from the Porsche website? I did that and it runs fine on XP, Vista and W7

Because some of us already HAD PET, but couldn't get it to work with Vista/7.
Frankly, we shouldn't have to DL it and the interface with the old PET was MUCH better.

Doynlaod adobe reader, for free. Should work fine. Also, Paragon has the same thing up, when you go to 944 parts. There are many others, as well.
I already knew that. I was just hoping to get PET to work.
