Default Cream colored oil...

Ok other than a HG what could be causing this? I pulled the hard pipes to start fabing up new ones and they had a water oil mix pooled inside. Checked the oil dip stick and it is cream colored.

The car does not over heat but has excesively used coolant for a while, I could never find the leak... No smoke, and the car ran great...

On N/As they had the internal oil cooler element that could cause this, but I don't know if it can on the turbos due to the oil filter housing. I don't know where else the oil and coolant are close enough to mix outside of the headgasket...

it's definitely oil cooler seals. on the N/A it's got a core like a radiator. on a turbo, it's a bypass to the external oil cooler, but there's still an O-ring in the mix. that's gone. so do that.

You said it's been excessively using coolant for a while, I'd assume your bearings would be damaged now. I'd see about changing those too..

Sorry about that. I could be either the oil thermostat seals or the head gasket. In my HG R&R write-up, I list tips for figuring out if it's the HG. See this link:

http://members.rennlist.com/tom86951/headgasket.htm

The most reliable test in my experience is to trap the coolant overflow hose in a plastic bottle and go for a drive. If it overflows when you are on boost, but not when you drive gently, that's a pretty strong sign it's your HG.

If it turns out to be the oil thermostat seals, I did I write-up for that here:

Thats the thing though, the oil always looked perfect...I never even got goo in the filler cap. Oh well this might be just the excuse I needed for some go fast goodies...You know, while I am in there...

I have spare cooler housing seal sets if you need one!

I might just take you up on that.

Hopefully that will be the problem, I also have to address the turbo soon.

Ugh damn me for saying how reliable these cars are.

The car has been parked for 2 months now, oil looked fine then. I started it got to temp just to clear the cob webs out and that was all.

The oil looked fine when I parked it.

Coolant tank and exhaust was normal.

Coolant tank was very low though.

X-reply...

Parked for 2 months, with the weather we have been having, could be condensation in the crank case... Change the oil , run it a LITTLE, and change it again... water / coolant will eat up the rod bearings if it is run TOO much...
