Magnesium is very porous even more so than aluminum, if water gets in it corrosion happens very fast! Then the heat cycles from engine temps will make it show tiny spider cracks everywhere! So you will want to use a special etching clear coat to seal it up? Maybe pass that along to the new owner of that polished turbo cup intake!

Thanks for the suggestions. I will get it plated after a little more research. I'm going to give jet hot a call on Monday. They have a nice selection of plating options. Although I am a fan of the polished look, this time it isn't going to make it. No offense to Lart, I like the piece very much.
