Well, you have to admit that a polished magnesium intake is even more rare, perhaps the only one in the world, a very unique item. btw the intake was sold the same day it was listed for an undisclosed amount of money

lart,

Nice job, as always I am envious of how you find these gems.

Did you have chance to weigh the two parts side by side, to see what the difference is? It would be interesting to know what you found.

Thanks Lart. The intake is much lighter. My brand new digital scale reads 8.8 and 6.2 for the mag. Much lighter feel with the arm scale. Doesn't magnesium need a coating of some sort to ward off corrosion? It looks cool polished, but I'd rather protect the surface. Anyone have a suggestion for a coating?

I can chrome it for you that's an option. But polished should be easy to maintain.

It may be a little pimpy for a motorsport part, but I think it's cool. Any thoughts on coatings, or do I need to worry?

the polished surface will stand grime and corrosion better than the original porous surface.

Killed is a little strong... In circles where terms like "Mentally Challenged" are used it would be referred to as "made it a unique representation"!
