That is probably the strangest 944 I've ever seen. Kudos to the guy that saw that through to completion.

Edit: I just don't get it, I'm sorry. I do not buy a Honda, complain about it being FWD and not having much torque, and proceed to swap in an Audi A4 Quattro drivetrain. Likewise, it is not like Porsche does not have a factory V8 option. Cheap and Porsche does not go together. Again, certain applications may warrant it or if it really 'your thing.' However, I know if / when I heard any Euro car rolling up sounding like an old Chevy, I'm disappointed.
the 944 is a good car. the engine though leaves something to be desired. yes it can be reliable. but making more power (what we are all after) is expensive...just moreso on a m44 engine.

Without getting into another 951 2.5 vs LS1 debate...
I don't really see the LS1 swap being worth it. The 951 engine is plenty capable. My dyno, quite a while ago, with a stock long-block, K27, exhaust, and fuel/tune:

I guess if you want to lug around at 1500rpm... then the V8 is for you
But 1500rpm doesn't feel like a sports-car to me, rather a diesel.

That would be too easy

Rogue I think a big part of it is reliability and easily acquired parts

Perhaps. But I can acquire a hell of a lot of parts for the cost of an LS1 conversion. Over four years of ownership, including one blown engine (over-rev = threw a rod), I haven't come close to the cost of a proper LS1 conversion.
And my engine only left me stuck twice. First time was a DME failure (not really the engines fault). Second time was when I severely over-revved it, promptly throwing a rod (my fault, not the engines).

Nice! That's a great motor, and a fun car to drive.

Thanks, I've put frowns on quite a few LS1 owners with it...
