Hmm, please explain what you mean, are you saying my AFM is reaching it's limit?
I could definitely believe that

IF I HAD TO PICK A FRONT WHEEL DRIVE TURBO CAR, IT WOULD BE A MAZDASPEED 3...

Until you modify it.

Those DI 2.3 motors in Mazda's LOVE to bend them some rods at only slightly higher than stock power levels.

Checkout a Mazda forum on the # of cratered Mazda3 motors.

Great cars handling-wise for FWD....but only a reliable car if it's stock.

Mazdaspeed 3 is actually fairly slow unfortunately.
Even modded they aren't much to be proud of. The other night, the same night as that video I posted, a ms3 with exhaust, tune, intake, and frount mount lost to a celica gts with hardly any mods into it. Then again I'm pretty sure the ms3 driver doesn't know how to make full use of the limited power band those cars have.
Still, if you want a cheap fwd turbo car with good potential, the cobalt ss (as ugly as it is) is hard to beat.

They are pretty quick compared to other factory turbo FWD cars. My friend ran a 13.4 in his stock with just a K&N drop-in filter. That's better than the 13.8-14.1 that you get out of a Cobalt SS (super or turbo) or SRT-4. Granted magazines quote the MS3 at around the same times as the Cobalt/Neon.

Hmm, don't mean to be disagreeable, but I find 13.4 highly unlikely in an otherwise stock ms3. Same power as a cobalt ss and more weight is sort of working against it. Then again I've seen a stage 1 gti run mid 13's which I'd also say was impossible.
I won't say it's impossible though as I wasn't there, but the cobalt ss is tough to beat when it comes to over all performace (very good handling car, the cobalt ss)
Too bad it's so ugly though

He had videos on youtube, but he deleted his account so you can't view them

His best time was a 12.9 @ 106 with a set of drag radials and MazdaSpeed CAI.

That's really impressive! I hope with drag radials my gti would be high 12's also
Too bad I never ever drive it now that I have my 915 back lol

I don't understand why people feel the need to record and post videos of them doing illegal and dangerous things in their cars. C'mon what are you thinking? Driving around with a tail light out! Better get that fixed before the Policía catch you.

its already fixed, also it'd be impossible for the driver of that 944 to be recording from the outside of his own car lol

Well if you dynoed at 300whp+ even if it is not clipping it is certainly time to get a MAF in there. Hell, even at 300 crank it is time to get that 30 year old barn door tech out of there. lol

But yea, 300+ in 4th gear is a lot of load and that AFM has got to be way out of its operating range.

Also because the stock AFM like MAFS is a 5v unit but actually clips about 4.7 which is much lower than newer MAFs which are accurate up to about 4.9 give or take.
