Not sure if this helps any but I have front 993 TT rotors X-drilled on my 88 TS with stock calipers. IIRC, OD diameter is 297mm. No issues so far with increased in clamping area and this thing stops on a dime.

If you have late offset wheels, ie in the 50mm range, and you have caliper adapters, adapting from axial to radial mount, then you likely have late spindles non MO30. If the radial mount calipers bolt directly to spindle without adapters then they are MO30.

None of that matters or really helps though, as you can use many rotors and caliper arrangements on the same spindles.

If you have Porsche rotors, the part number is stamped on the hat section.

95% chance yes. Just buy the 993 rotors.

i couldnt find any part number on the hat unless they are in the inside of the hat. I also looked and didnt see any sort of adapter on the calipers like I would see on lindsey racing's website. I do believe that I have the M030 setup

Yes, I agree. Get the 993 rotors...they are a nice upgrade.

it wouldnt necessarily be an upgrade since i have brembo big blacks on the car already...just trying to figure out exactly which rotor I need to get, but i'm probably going to try and find slotted rotors instead of cross drilled.

Big Blacks/Reds are nice as is...To be honest, for street use stock set up is more than adequate even with solid rotors.. The xdrilled helps with wet weather days but my next set of rotors will be slotted. There are always trade off...

You might want to get the part number of of the control arm to see if they are 86 or 87+. You could also look at the P/N of the wheels and see what offset you are running.

the wheels dont say any sort of offset. they are HRE's and were on the car when I bought it...I will check the control arms at another point. Thanks for that advice

Not necessarily, your hubs could have been machined down on the OD so the discs will fit over the hub. You may have Black 944TS/928S4 calipers and discs.

Take a wheel off and measure accurately the disc diameter. Then you will know which disc. Lot's of options available for the 944TS/928S4 discs and pads.

Since we are on the subject of brakes and rotors...What's the biggest rotors that can be fitted on the Reds/Blacks? Sorry for the slight hijack.

ok, so I got in touch with the guy I bought the car from and he got in touch with the guy he got it from. apparently the big blacks are off a 1992 928 S4. So that means I have to get the rotors for a 928 s4 then

I thought that the last year for the S4 was 1991.

The front brakes on the 928 S4 are the same brakes as the front of the 951 S.

A couple of answers....

The largest rotor a big red/black will fit (without modification) is 322 x 32.

As to which rotors, first, if your big reds/blacks bolt directly onto the spindles then you have the M030 spindles in which case the 928 GTS rotors are a direct bolt-on and the 993 rotors will NOT fit without a different hat.

If your big reds/blacks use a caliper adapter from the racer's edge, lindsey racing or many of the others, they are designed to mount the caliper in the same position as the M030 setup would, therefore the same fitment as above applies.

The caveat to this is if you're using caliper adapters AND they would designed to specifically work with the 993 rotors without a hat modification then the answers above are reversed. That said, if the caliper adapters were designed to work with an unmodified 993 rotor then you'd probably be having clearance issue of the caliper to the wheel.

HTH

Michael

the 928 GTS rotors are a direct bolt-on, not requiring you to do anything else. If you purcha
