Default Injectors

Any injectors out there around #55 that you do not have to use resistors?

the 944 turbo has a weird resistance. something like 5.5 ohms. injectors are normally sold as either low impedance (2.4-2.8 ohm usually) or high impedance (like 14ohm). you add resistors to bring the total resistance up for that circuit, otherwise there will be too much current and you can burn out the dme.

some people have gotten away with 55lbers without resistors but its probably safer to run with them and it wont be hard.

"you add injectors to bring the total resistance up for that circuit"
You meant resistors.

No problem. Check with fivemotorsport I bought the #36 from them. I was happy with their service.

Installing injector resistors is very easy. I don't have any pictures of my install, but I made a mounting plate and soldered the connections. I've read bad things about using spade connectors on them...

How long before your DME dies? I have driven mine a coupple of days on 83lb injectors .. Will be installing the resistors when i get home.

It partly depends on how hard you drive your car. The harder you drive it, the more heat builds up in the circuit.

its more about doing full throttle for extended periods of time.

Exactly, the higher the duty cycle you run them at, the more heat builds in the system.

Hmmm higher the duty cycle the more they heat up. I have 55 in my Turbos S no problem.
But if I had them open long enough to heat up... I'd need to duct tape my lic and registration to the hood.
