Default Picts of new turbo, clutch, and flywheel

Hi guys,

Thought some of you might want to see what the 968 flywheel, 911 TT clutch/pp, and Presision forged wheel turbo looks like.

Happy Thanksgiving,

George

Since I had the 3.0 motor, and 968 box, thought I might as well install the 968 bellhousing and tq tube. I seem to burn up clutch discs, so a 2 hour disc swap made sense. Found, through Chris White, that I can use the 911 TT PP and clutch with the new bellhousing. Ordered a 968 clutch disc from 968barn along with their flywheel to match the 911 TT PP.

Learned that the more factory parts you can use, the better off you will be.

I use the same setup on my 968 George except I use a 911 3.6 C2 PP instead as I was told (right or wrong I don't know) that the TT can be a bit too stiff. I will be interested to see how you get on with it, my setup has been fine so far but I have yet to give it any serious use.

My stuff gets serious use. I'll give updates. My discs were lasting only 10K or less, and I hate the long clutch installs.

1 to 2 hour disc changes will be welcome.

Any hotside pictures? Also, who did your coating on your exhaust, or did Tim do the dirty work for you? lol

Looks good though. This week has been a good week for new turbos!

I wanted better spool times. The GTK 650 would begin to produce boost at 3K but not hit full boost till 4K. I'm trying to get full boost before or at 3K with similar top end. The GTK turbo was leaking a little at the bearing. I was told that this is "normal." Didn't like the burning oil smell I would get when running it hard.

Here you go. The hotside is now ceramic coated.

How will you manage a 2 horu clutch install?

This turbo looks like garret hybrid? Not water cooled?

This turbo IS water cooled. It has a Garrett BB center section. Precision make everything else.

The 2 hour clutch jobs are because I'm now using a 968 bellhousing and torque tube. You don't have to drop the transmission with the 968. I'm using the 968 six speed with a clutch type LSD. I'm going through discs too fast. The 968 bellhousing allows me to use the 911TT PP, 968barn flywheel, and their sport disc. This setup should hold better than what I was getting from the available 951 stuff. Using a factory 911TT PP just made sense to me. These guys are holding over 700whp with this PP and disc.

The 968 flywheel also allows me to use the factory flywheel refrence sensor for my TEC GT. I've found that the more factory parts you can use with these cars, the better they hold up. I suppose the next step is to find a mint 968 and just bolt all this stuff into it. LOL

Looking very good George, and I'm very impressed with the rationale behind changing to 968 bellhousing and TT. Gotta love the quicker clutch changes
