I still don't understand all the crying about the "weakness" of the transaxle.
Burnout Burnout Burnout Burnout......no problem clutch/trans/CV or otherwise. Perhaps I am lucky, but I have also noticed that alot of the Euro guys question the same thing. They DRIFT RACE ON STOCK TRANS!!! Maybe it is just with the LSD units (mine is not)....or maybe my 310RWHP just isn't enough to do any damage. FWIW I run 18" 285/40's.
Then again I do not track/race it, so maybe it doesn't see that type of abuse which would/could weaken those components.
Either that or the whole driveline will EXPLODE tomorrow

With everything that car has put you through, I pray to the P-car gods nothing else goes wrong for you...

Euro guys question the same thing. They DRIFT RACE ON STOCK TRANS!!!
Also some norweigans might drift, but all other countries are for track/autocross use only

Yes, but you guys do not seem to be TO worried about blowing the rears up or maybe I am mis-reading some of that.

Actually drifting is not that bad for the transaxle - good drifters are very smooth.
The transaxle hates shock loading - sudden / abrupt power input.
Its not my opinion, Its what the car was designed to do. If you want to try to make it do something it is not well suited for then feel free….it is your car (and your wallet).
And yes, it is the law – the laws of physics and engineering. I can’t take credit for making those up…I am not that old!
Now back to EMS stuff….for those of you that don’t know….I do make a front mount 60-2 tooth trigger system that I use for the Electromotive systems…several people have used it for megasquirt installs. Its not as ‘fancy’ as the Clewitt setup – but it is about half the price!

If I wold like to build me a kit for Porsche 951,
What du I have to buy?
Where can I get it?
And what do I use of the orginal stuff?
And how hard is it to build?
Best regards

Chris, 60-2 trigger wheel? Not familiar with that but I understand half the price! Can you still hook it up to the Ford EDIS? Not trying to reinvent the wheel (No pun intended) :
Any details, is it on your site?

the legend... the 60-2 toothed wheel.... crank trigger to the max...electromotive FTW

Yeah the 60-2 works the same or similar to 36-1, although I'm not 100% sure it would work with the EDIS module.. Again I would recommend just running the ignition through megasquirt, as the only true benefit of EDIS module is that it reverts back to 10 degrees BTDC if it loses the VR signal.. aka "limp mode".

If you're firing your ignition directly with MS you can use a 36-1, a 60-2, or many other wheel patterns. Those would be the two most common to be fitted to a motor if you weren't using the factory trigger mechanism.
If you're using EDIS, you must use a 36-1 wheel. The EDIS module won't know what to do with anything else. It's an OEM designed piece, not programmable, only uses a wheel similar to what it was designed to work with.
We do offer 36-1 trigger wheels if needed. If you need a 60-2 the wheels above look great...

Now are they authentic, or US rolled, re-pat baco?
Best weekend I have had was spent in a hot tub floating beers in a cooler smoking authentic ubans... while some "hired help" was laying tile on the patio and grill deck... those were the days!

Just to ask a basic question in context, why do all the various trigger setups make such a difference to each other? What's so wrong with the stock setup? Does it break, is it imprecise? My assumption is that in whatever trigger you use, it turns a revolution and is measured via a sensor. Whether there are 132 or 32 teeth etc, I assume that there is only one, or two trigger points per revolution and at 7000rpm how much do the various choices differ?
What about the difference between a crank and cam trigger? Again, it's just revolutions, no?
Apologies to those who are all over this stuff, but I'm sure that the majority could learn a thing or two.
Oh, and CP, Stop doing friggen' burnouts!! You've only just got this thing back after a nightmare run. Let the car do what it's designed for mate.
