the euro plate holder has about a million holes in the back so it should match up i just used the factory too!

On the way, Birgit explained the plate symbols. Germans are so organised. The plate itself is the equivalent of road-tax. The pink sticker shows when the vehicle is due for its next emmisions test. The number in the centre is the year (2005), the month pointing upwards (06) is the month it is due. The shading around the 12-o'clock position is so passing police cars can see which way up the sticker is and thus what the upper-most month is!

The green sticker uses the same system to show when the next TUV is due:

I really do wish there was a way to legally run a rear euro plate in the US...

 

My friend with an STI just has his US plate sitting in the back window with a europlate mounted in the rear. As far as I know he hasn't had any problems since his plate is visible in the window. He's been running it like this for almost a year now.

Don't think it's legal since you don't have a light on it sitting in the rear window...but he's gotten away with it thus far.

 

thats what I was thinking, mounting the euro plate and having the us one inside the car just in case. Several friends here in PR have done this in several Porsches and VW's. but none have 944's and I didn't know how I'd mount it.

 

I've posted this before but I had my plate made with my actual numbers/letters and designed my rendition of a Colorado euro plate and had the green border/state flag made in viny by Rennlister 35thSLP.

It's been 4+ years and so far no issues, not that I'm going to argue if I ever get questioned about it.

 

leagly i think that there is no rule against the us over the euro plate however you will prob get pulled so have the legal papers showing its legal when you do like my frenched headlights
