Any idea what the difference is between the original run and the current unit?

Does the instalation of a catch can eliminate some of the smoke out the exhaust on hard/boost accel?

Todd911K. when you say smoke what do you mean? black smoke? Blue smoke?
Black I would say no, you are running rich(#72 injectors). Blue is probably your valve seals.

Nope. all it does is vent the blow by and deposits the vapors/oil in the can, for what it's worth, it takes a lot of space in the limited room there is, plus you need one or two more long hoses, I have a breather on mine, simpler and less space, it's right next to the oil filler tube...

Bah, you don't need a lot of space with the SM can...provided you have a MAF which implies you've removed the stock airbox...

Pics of mine here...

Yes, but you also have to remember some places require inspections (such as myself) and the guys who do the visual actually know what they're looking at (I.E. closed or open crank case ventilation system, MAF/MAP type sensors, etc...). And the SM catch can is not that big.

Do they do a visual engine inspection in TX as a part of the annual? I don't recall them opening my hood when I went in and had mine done last year. No one looked under the car for a cat either (I don't have one).
