Default Microsoft Vista operating system...

..is anyone using this system with LR's MAFtuner software?
I need some assistance please.
My old XP system worked great, have downloaded the software from LR's site as before and it's just not happening. I need to download from the E-prom to the software to tweek the fuel map slightly and can't get the "idle" message to appear.
Any suggestions would/will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Trust me, you should just load XP on your laptop. I've tried most everything to get Vista to work on my TEC. I had to load XP to get it my laptop to work. Even my trading computers at my office are running XP.....Vista was a quick sale without thought.

Good luck.

Try changing the compatibility mode.

1. Right click the executable and click the Properties option.
2. Select the Compatibility tab.
3. Select the Run This Program in Compatibility Mode option.
4. From the drop-down list, choose the operating system you ran before upgrading to Vista.
5. If necessary, select the option to run the program as an administration.
6. Click OK.

Having said that, one must always take Microsoft's claims with a heavy grain of salt.

Fluidplay:

Have you tried running the program in Administrator mode?

Yes you should be running the program as an Administrator. You have to call Lindsey maybe that Idle tab isn't supported for Vista(Bug).
Good Luck.

I emailed Dave at LR with this question last night...no reply yet. I'll try the administrator route this evening.
Thanks for the help!!

Actually, they just added "XP Mode" to windows 7 pretty recently. It's a great OS.

Windows Vista works like a charm for me. I have been using it on everything since an early beta version. I even found a USB driver that mimics a DB9 serial port. I mounted the MB box under the dash and have a USB access port in glove box. Most notebooks don't even have DB9 ports anymore.

I moved all my PCs to Windows 7 months ago on an early build. I haven't had a need to see if Mafterburner still works correctly. I am sure it does as long as the USB driver still works. If I get board, I will check it and report back.
