Anybody of you have had the courage to try the cheap turbos made in china.
If so, what was the experience?
I have to recognize that i feel a lot of curiosity about them, but I dont have ***** to try any on and I like to much hi quality items.

I have met a couple of people with them.. they all failed in about half a year. Nothing like a honda civic running 6 psi then BOOM blue smoke and no power haha

Don't go cheap, go authentic

i friend of mine had one for about 18months with no dramas it was removed for a bigger unit .

I think for turbo conversions on car were you can buy a cheap to3 manifold and you can get at them they are spot on .
but on a 944 ??
you have to convert the car to Garret style stuff . then its a big job to get them out if you are keen enough to put a kit through the turbo if they go smoky ..

I'm sure half of them a good

I guess I just dont want to be the one who test which the good ones and which are junk.
Apart from that I have clear that many of the things we buy are manufactured in Asia. I have friends who design high quality products that he then manufactured in Taiwan.

The thing the Chines do not have down is close machining tolerances and good materials. That will come in time, it's just not here yet.

Close machining tolerances and good materials are required for turbos.

When that time comes, it will cost the same as any other quality turbocharger?
