I'd be happy with anything over 200whp, but 300 would be ideal. There are no receipts, Theres no way to know whats been done to it in the past so I don't know about the clutch. Only thing I'm sure about is the timing belt which was just replaced in the last 20 miles. I'll see about getting some pictures up tomorrow. damn no such thing as a free lunch, this is beginning to look like a bad idea. I figured the price of parts would be reasonable.

Don't buy it... It's not what you want and without records you have no idea what you are getting.

Maybe a 951 would be okay, but it does not sound like you have / want to spend the money to operate a car like this....

Don’t give up on owning a Porsche, but letting this one go may be best as many people have been in your same position and bought a car which put them in unnecessary debt. Porsche parts are expensive!
Now is the perfect time to research the various 944 models and learn what to look for before you shell out the cash.
Use the Search function on this site, select “Title Only” as a search option and enter, “New to Porsche, First 944, Looking for Porsche”, or any other variation and I’m sure you could read for days.

Ive decided not to buy it, and instead wait until I have more to drop on a better condition 951. Thank-you for the help guys!

Mine is 340 rwhp @15 psi boost (top speed 170+mph, plan on doing the Texas Mile some time this year). It will set you back in your seat and your wallet. Doing a rebuild now and anticipate in the $4k to $5k range and I already have most of the go fast parts.

Keep looking. There are some great deals on 951's out there in this economy. I picked up my one owner, 103K mile, previous track car for just under $4500. Car came with no history, but I took a chance and have been glad I did. I have had it about a year now as a daily driver and have close to $9000 invested, but a lot of that was a complete new A/C system and all new powder coated slotted and cross drilled rotors and EBC Yellow stuff brake pads. I have learned quickly that you must work on it yourself, unless you have deep pockets and a very TRUSTWORTHY mechanic. Keep looking and good luck finding something.
