Default Dash pad question

Has anyone here ever tried one of these dash pad caps? Not so sure its a good idea but figured I'd ask.

Dash cap on Ebay

I need to replace the cracked burgundy dash on my 88 951. Anyone have any leads on a like new part in the correct color????

i had one of those for my early and it worked for a while but it warped horribly after a few months despite the no-warp guarantee

That's what my fear is. I'd rather wait until someone is selling a correct factory part before going aftermarket on anything. The problem is that even the original ones were junk and cracked like crazy. My interior is coming together nicely with the exception of the dash.

it is easy to install though. i might get another one just because im tired of looking at dashcracks and with a sunvisor and stuff it should last longer

not very close up, ill have to dig a bit but you can tell its a cap but it looks pretty good.
