Default Helicopter fuel Line Sound

I have a LR fuel rail, fuel regulator and high volume fuel pump on my car. Since installation the system made a loud helicopter sound at low rpms. I had my mechanic completely insulate the system today and the sound is 70% gone (huge improvement).

He mentioned that BMWs use a damper in the fuel line that eliminates this sort of sound. The one he had on the shelf had larger fuel lines than I have on the 951. He is looking for something from another manufacturer that will fit my car.

Has anyone experimented with this technology? I would love to get rid of the sound all together.

Is that an early set of lines ? The early lines did not have any "give" and LR subsequently released a modified section of fuel line that had a rubberised section that would absorb some of the pulses. That and a Marren Fuel Damper fixed the issue on my car and it had been quite loud to start with. There should be a fair bit of history available via search as well.

CEP sells one that doesn't do that. Get in on the group buy. Do a search. The stock rail has a damper as well.

The LR equipment was probably installed 5 years ago. I will give Dave a call and see about getting the rubberized component. It will be nice to be free of that noise.

Motec did a heap of loggong in different spots along the rail and found if you go for big injectors your realy should always keep the fuel damper on the rail or you asking for trouble ...
the noise reduction is just a bonus ... but i hate fuel system noise

Yes, it mounts in a MUCH stronger/better way (four points instead of two), has a dampener, uses Oring fittings instead of nasty NPT, and its the same price. Its excellently designed and built.

Same price, $279?

You wouldn't have a link to a picture?

Price is for just the rail, but I hear he has been working on putting together a "kit" for an additional price... read the thread...

The $250 is a non issue. I would gladly pay that to get rid of the obnoxious sound.

Your embedded picture is bad. Was that a picture of the product?

While the LR unit is noisy, it is attractive to the eye and matches the blue theme of engine compartment.

Well, then by all means keep the purty one!
