Default Clicking noise from the rear....

im getting a clicking noise from the rear of the car when driving- sounds like a baseball card in the spokes. Does not sound like the usual half shaft click though, but is only present when im on the gas at any capacity. Let off the gas and its gone. IM worried its the LSD trans getting ready to explode.

its probably the cv joints. I just had to replace mine with a new axle after I got a clicking noise when accelerating. There was no noise unless I hit the gas

Hes probably right. Maybe your xsboost mobile is hard on the axles. Ive heard that a turbo LSD tranny is pretty damn strong, and that the axles are the weak point.

You could try swapping axles with a late offset car to see if it cures the problem

my car is late offset :P

it could be axels. These axels are brand new about two years ago and usually they make more of a popping sound while this is a tick tick tick sound and it doesnt matter how hard on the gas you are- could be just touching the pedal and it clicks. Usually that is only under hard exceleration that axels pop. I also have a solid trans mount which SHOULD keep from destroying axels....

Dan,

Mine was the same, and it was the CV's. Although at first I only heard it on accel, then when driving beside a Jersey wall on the interstate I could hear it on decel, but just not as pronounced.

Fingers crossed

maybe i'll rotate them and see if it goes away. I would rather it be the cv's than the $1500 trans!

just drove the car this morning- still clicking- even off the gas- as long as the car is moving. Im thinking either the pads are clicking in the caliper or i need to check my ebrakes for broken/popped out springs.

Mine was a result of the brake pad retaining clip...bent slightly and all clicking is gone!

Mine just started what almost sounds like the same thing. I get the baseball card in the spokes noise only on load, but it's dependent on engine rpm. Because of that, I was thinking torque tube or input shaft bearings.
It is noticeable between about 2K to 3K rpm, after 3K it's frequency is too difficult to pick out over the engine and exhaust sounds.

Default Did anyone ever figure out what the clicking noise is?

I have the same clicking noise under load between 2-3k RPM. Talk about annoying.

Could be from phone dial center caps or rear brakes. If you have caps try removing them first and see if that helps. Then safety wire your brake pads...
