Default What turbo to fit my needs?

So i have a 1988 951 non S. My turbo has bad seals so im in the process of pulling it. I want to take this chance to upgrade to something better. I still have stock internals so im looking for something in the 350hp range. I want a Vitesse kit but is it the most cost effective way for me to go? Anyone here make their own kit?

Edit

Im also looking at the Lindsey kits because they seem to put everything in the kit for you

+1 on Vitesse, when I do it, I'm doing it right the first time... for now I'm just playing, but I do plan to have Vitesse on my car in the near future (maybe a winter project this winter...

I run vitesse maf but a run a 60-1 hifi with 63 exhaust straight T3. I used to have a K27-6 That I loved quick spool and it would hold boost to the redline. I ran it with stock afm and europroducts chips and got into the low 13's in the quarter car was blast on the street. Only mod is the J-boot from the turbo to the afm or maf whichever you like, I made a steel one back then.

badcoupe i think im looking to do something like you used to have. I just really want to drive the car so im looking for something easy and relatively cheap for now. Then i can save up to build the whole motor at once. So K27 the best route or what other options do i have?

I love my 60-1 hifi with a vitesse MAF kit

I say go with whatever turbo is good bang for the buck (bolts onto stock x-over/downpipe/oil feed/waterpipe) and get a Vitesse MAF kit - it does not care what turbo you are running

How much hp are you seeing with your 60-1? And what kind of engine software are you running with it besides the MAF?

Also a 60-1 HiFi user with Vitesse MAF and the usual supporting mods. Have not dyno'ed the car but at 15psi i would be surprised to see less than 300whp. Spool up is fine on the street i think, i get 1-bar by about 3300-3400rpm in 4th.

No other software besides the MAF. I bet things can be fine tuned and spool dropped a little with the piggyback, but i feel like the money is better spent on other things for the car at the moment.

Regardless of what turbo you put on the car, get the Vitesse MAF. It cant be beat plain and simple.

LR 3" exhaust
Vitesse maf and chip board

dynoed at 359rwhp before vitesse stuff installed at 21psi.
