Default Having some fun with a GTR on the track.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqeqtJYf6CI

Did a DE yesterday and there were a few nice cars there. Came up to a new GTR and we had a bit of a play. Unfortunately I'm having a few headaches trying to chase my suspension setup but we had some fun nonetheless. Lot of idiot drivers who wouldn't use their mirrors or signal you past but that's pretty common on these days.
Also my mirror is a pita. Anyone know where to get something a bit smaller?

Nice driving, clean and fast. The GTR's are very quick. Pretty amazing what they can do 100% stock.

What tyres are you running there as your car looks much better planted than the last time out on the slicks?

Ha, yes those slicks were indeed slick alright. Yesterday I used Hoosier R6 and my old corded R888s. I think in that video I was on the R6s for the first time. Great tyre in my opinion.
Sorry about the angle / mirror setup. I'm sure there are some race mirrors that are shorter from top to bottom that would be better. I'd love to take the whole thing off and just use the wing mirrors but that might be a bit risky. Would have been ok yesterday as no body went past me but not a safe option generally.
I was having trouble grabbing any fast apexes too but the day started with rain as usual, and it lessened our time to play around with the settings. Damn elusive art this suspension stuff. Managed to better my previous fastest recorded lap by about 3 seconds so that was satisfying knowing there is more to come. Still not bad on the spare stock 1986 2.5L motor up against the GTR. Very nice car inside too. We were talking in the pits. Nice guy.

Jumps around a little bit at the 6:20 mark. Looks like you're driving a much better line than the GTR!

I'm very happy with the Long Acre mirror - great field of view. I have it mounted on the cage hoop - that way it blocks the windshield less.

cant imagine driving without a mirror as you would not see someone on your tail even with both mirrors. I like my wink mirror, gives great all round visibility at a glance.

Unfortunately my stupid mirror covered up showing just how hard he was trying. He was doing some really nice 4 wheel drifts through turn three (after main straight). He was on totally road setup rubber wise so he said they started to go off. Heavy car too so I was actually catching him under hard braking areas. I could have been closer to him through a few turns too but had no turn in on the fast corners. As Van notes, it did get a bit bumpy and from what the pit guys said, it was pitching on the outside front corner a little through there so that's where the bumpiness was coming from.
I'll check out those mirrors. I hate losing good film to the stock one. I'll move the camera into a better position too.
